ORCKA SAFE CANOEING
This course is for adults 18+. The Safe Canoeing Program provides the first-time paddler with basic safety and performance information relative to canoeing. By the end of the session it is expected that paddlers will have enough skill to safely enjoy some recreational paddling with a partner close to shore in calm conditions.
There are no prerequisites for this course. Ability to swim is not required as you will be wearing a PFD the entire time we are on the water.

The day of the course we will practice these Skills (on water) (3-4 hours)
· Launching and Removing a Canoe

· Sideward displacement
· Forward straight line
· Stopping
· Landing
· Lifts and carries
If we have a little time at the end of the course we will go on a short paddle tour of the Toronto Islands Lagoons. What a great way to take the perfect selfie and be a tourist in your own city.
Take the 9:30 Ward’s Island Ferry and meet at 10:00 am at the TICC shoreline. The TICC is located just WEST of the ALGONQUIN ISLAND BRIDGE, off Cibola Avenue.

We will refund your money in full should we cancel the course you registered for due to under registration, weather or other safety issues. If you choose to cancel your participation more than 14 + days in advance of the course date, we will refund you your payment less $25 for administrative fees. No refunds within two weeks of the course date.
